The Fairfield Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. proudly serves 20,000 people living in an area of 150 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
The Fairfield Vol. Rescue Squad, Inc. was founded in July 1959. We have 45 active members that respond to over 850 calls for service per year. We provide EMS services to citizens in Northern Rockbridge County.
We are first due to the citizens of Fairfield, Raphine, Steeles Tavern, Vesuvius, Rockbridge Baths, Brownsburg, Timber Ridge, and Walkers Creek. Our secondary response area includes all adjacent EMS districts on a mutual aid basis.
We provide Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, Vehicle Extrication, and Search & Rescue.
We are a member of the Rockbridge Emergency Rescue Group and are governed by the rules and regulations of the Virginia Office of EMS and the Central Shenandoah EMS Council.
